Firefox Focus Browser Provides Privacy and Content Blocking

Firefox Focus Browser Provides Privacy and Content Blocking
George Williams

For a few months now I've been intermittently using Firefox Focus to browse the web on my iPhone. It's a free web browser for iOS, created by the Mozilla Foundation, the same folks behind the Firefox browser. What makes Firefox Focus different, however, is the fact that it's designed to be "a dedicated privacy browser with tracking protection and content blocking.

In other words, if you don't want your Amazon shopping history (to cite one potential scenario) being communicated to the other websites you visit after you finish shopping, then this is the browser for you. Or if you don't want to have the New York Times cut you off after you've used up your 10 free articles for the month, then this is the browser for you. Or if you don't want someone getting ahold of your phone and analyzing what you've been reading online, then this is the browser for you (although who would be worried about a scenario like that?).

For the full details about this tool, visit "What is Firefox Focus?" on the Mozilla support site. To download and install on your own iOS device, visit the app store. I am unable to find any information about whether Mozilla is working on versions for Android or other platforms.

Have you used Firefox Focus? What do you think? Alternately, if you're a user concerned about privacy and online tracking, what strategies do you use to maintain your privacy? Please share in the comments!
