LONDON — Dana Gers has been named global marketing and communications director of Net-a-porter, WWD has learned. Gers will commence her newly created role in mid-April and will report to Matthew Woolsey, managing director. She will work with the brand's team on marketing and public relations, as well as on the key messaging and communication strategy. She will also be responsible for driving sales, customer acquisition and retention. Gers was previously senior vice president, global brand marketing and communications at Jimmy Choo, where she saw the company through its initial public offering in 2014 and managed brand development, advertising, public relations, visual merchandising, direct mail, customer relationship management and digital strategy for the company. She has also worked at Guerlain, The Movado Group, Baccarat and Salvatore Ferragamo. "I look forward to bringing my experience, and uniting a strong sense of creativity with an analytical and strategic approach to continue to help the business flourish," Gers said. "This couldn't be a more exciting time to join the company and collaborate with such inspiring leadership."
