LONDON — European stock markets were down in mid-morning trading on Friday. The CAC 40 in Paris declined 0.4 percent to 5,014.23, followed by the FTSE MIB in Milan, which fell 0.2 percent to 20,129.24. Both the DAX in Frankfurt and the FTSE 100 in London retreated 1 percent to 12,029.74 and 7,337.42, respectively. The euro traded at $1.07, the pound at $1.24 and the Danish krone at $0.14 at 10:00 a.m. CET. Retail and luxury stocks put on an uneven show, with the morning's biggest risers including Pandora, up 1.6 percent to 775.50 kroner, followed by French Connection Group, 1.4 percent to 0.36 pounds, and Hugo Boss, 0.7 percent to 66.78 euros. Among the morning's biggest fallers were Joules, down 8 percent to 2.41 pounds, MySale Group, 2.4 percent to 70.96 pounds, and Marks & Spencer, 1.1 percent to 3.33 pounds.
