Multiple Cards Question

For GPU mining, besides the obvious added cost of electricity, would the earn rate of whatever your mining be the same if you had 2-4 identical computers running the same setup as it would if you just put all 4 video cards in the same machine? Let's say 4 computers each with a 280x card vs. one computer w/ 4 280x cards? Which is a better earner? Thanks. Bitcoins And MOney Making Tips
